Last week, Company 4 members, new and seasoned, participated in July's "Medical Monday" drill. The topics included were: CPR and AED use, Lucas (mechanical chest compression device) placement, securing the airway, and suctioning tools & techniques. New members were introduced to how to measure and apply oral and nasopharyngeal airways, how to use a bag valve mask, how to implement the Lucas, how to apply the AED, and the different tools and techniques of using a suction device to clear a patients airway, while seasoned members received a refresher on all of the above.
